As you know, carriers worldwide are experiencing COVID-related shipping delays. Following a recent outbreak in the Canada Post Gateway processing facility in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Post has reported extended shipping delays, as well as a delay in tracking information.
Given the significance of the Gateway facility, Canada Post is evaluating and adapting its existing contingency plans to manage the impact on customers. More details will be available soon. At this point, customers can expect shipping delays. They have posted a service alert to canadapost.ca to notify Canadians that shipping delays may occur as a result of this development.
Please note, according to the World Health Organization, it is safe to receive a package and mail from an area where COVID-19 has been reported.
